Updates to Your Body's Own GLP-1
The weight-loss drug field moves quickly. This page is the running list of what has changed since the book was printed, sorted by how quickly each kind of fact tends to move. When a number here and a number in the book disagree, trust the newer one.
How this page works
The book you are holding is current as of mid-2026. Approvals, prices, insurance rules, and safety guidance can all change after a book is written, so this page exists to keep the fast-moving parts honest. I re-check every claim in the book against the current research once a year, and I would rather revise in public than let an old figure stand. The edition and date sit on the copyright page.
The list below is grouped by how quickly each kind of fact tends to move, from the things that change almost monthly to the underlying biology, which barely changes at all. Newest corrections are added to the top of each group.
Last full review: mid-2026 (first edition). Next scheduled review: 2027.
What has changed since the first edition
One correction so far, listed under Approvals and new medicines below. The first edition was verified against current research as of mid-2026, and each change since appears here under the group it belongs to, with the date it was added.
Prices, coupons, and savings cards (these change almost monthly)
List prices, manufacturer savings cards, and cash-pay and compounded prices move constantly. Any dollar figure in the book is a snapshot from when it was written. Confirm today's price with the manufacturer or your pharmacy.
No corrections yet as of mid-2026.
Insurance and coverage rules (these change often)
What plans cover, and the hoops they ask you to jump through, shift from year to year and plan to plan. Treat the book's coverage examples as how the system tends to work, not as your plan's current policy.
No corrections yet as of mid-2026.
Approvals and new medicines (these change a few times a year)
New drugs are approved and new trial results are published on a steady drumbeat. When a medicine named in the book as still in trials reaches approval, or a new one worth knowing about arrives, it will be noted here.
August 2026 — BPC-157's regulatory status. In July 2026, as this book was being finalized, an FDA advisory committee voted narrowly, eight to six, to recommend the peptide BPC-157 for the list of substances that compounding pharmacies may use. An earlier draft described BPC-157 only as having come off the FDA's safety-risk list after its nomination was withdrawn, which read as more settled against it than the record now supports.
The honest picture today: that vote is a recommendation, not an approval. BPC-157 is still not cleared to compound, and the FDA has months of rulemaking ahead before anything changes. There is still no FDA-approved BPC-157 medicine, and its human safety data still lags far behind the animal research it is sold on. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin were not part of that review, and the picture for them is unchanged.
Safety guidance and labels (these change occasionally)
Warnings, contraindications, and label language are updated as more people use these medicines over more years. If official safety guidance changes in a way that affects anything in the book, it will be corrected here first.
No corrections yet as of mid-2026.
The underlying biology (this changes slowly)
How your own GLP-1 works, what protein and fiber and movement and sleep do for it, and why muscle matters in midlife are settled enough to build a life on. This is the slowest-moving part of the book, and the least likely to need a correction.
No corrections yet as of mid-2026.

Readers: get told when something changes
If you have the book, you can join a short list that I write to only when something on this page actually changes, a few times a year at most. No other mail, and a one-click unsubscribe on every message.
You are on the list. I will write only when something on this page changes. Thank you for reading.
